We chose Emtek's Polished Chrome model to complement existing Schlage Callington leversets, as Schlage's single-sided deadbolt models don't offer matching raised-medallion faceplates...these matched beautifully. [...] Installation was simple, no surprises, and the action of the bolt is smooth and solid. We especially like the detailing of Emtek's unique symmetrical thumb-latch, and the polished feel of the heavy bright chrome finish. We receive many compliments from our guests as to the luxurious appearance and quality feel of these items.In the long term, the units have remained corrosion-free in their humid island environment, and the smooth bolt-action performance remains unchanged from the initial installation.These Emtek 8550-series units are not cheap, however, they certainly are worth their price; they perform as well or better as similarly styled units costing two to three times as much.We are delighted with our initial experience with this item and will definitely purchase more Emtek 8550-series deadbolts from absolutehome.com in the near future!
