The whole purpose of a bird feeder is to allow the birds to eat. This specific model was made on the lines of a previous Opus feeder I had for years so I figured I couldn't go wrong with ordering another, how WRONG I WAS. Mounted this feeder had it up and the seed never went down, discovered that if you put black oil seed in this feeder it gets jammed and doesn't allow for the seed to fall properly. Therefore, very displeased with the item. If you take the little door adjustments out for the seed, then the seed falls right out of the feeder. After this experience will never own another Opus feeder - There quality of products is not as it used to be, made much more cheaper and don't know how you could sell a feeder that doesn't allow the seed to fall properly.

Pole does not support a full feeder

Pole does not suport the feeder adequately. Feeder is too heavy when full. I would recommend it for a hanging feeder. I am satisfied with the feeder and would buy again.

The feeder stores a lot of seed and has many perches so a variety of birds can feed at one time. Unfortunately within several days two of the plastic parts that keep the seed in the tubes were broken. This caused the seed to flow freely out of the tube. We have chipmunks and squirrels who can get to the feeder so possibly one of them broke the part. Of course the birds loved this because the seed all fell to the ground and they didn't have to work to get it!
