No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I hung this feeder on a cottonwood on a 48-inch metal hanger. I put a wire cage around it to keep pigeons, grackels, and starlings from perching on it, running off the smaller birds, and gorging. So far, I have been unsuccessful keeping the squirrels out of it. Otherwise, I have been satisfied with thisw feeder. However, the little plastic louvers that adjust the way the seed is despensed have been attacked by the squirrels. One of these louvers at the bottom of one tube is now missing, making that tube completely useless. Unless I replace this part, I cannot recommend this feeder. This is a weak, but critical part.Any suggestions? [@]
