    I have a Big Green Egg like BBQ that is about 35 years old and is breaking down. So when it was time to replace it I already knew what to expect and I haven't been dissapointed. The Big Green Egg has some nice enhancements over the predecessor. Such as the ash door is stanless steel, the lid hinge is spring loaded, the lid vent is adjustable and a temperature gage that helps to keep the temperature in the desired range. The temperature gage will make it easier to bake and roast. I have used it a dozen times already and I am very pleased with the taste of the foods. The predecessor was the same size as the Medium BGE but I decided the 18" grill of the large BGE would allow more grilling freedom. Not as convenient as a gas grill but the taste is far, far, far superior.

    Service & Delivery comments:

    It all came as expected. At the time of purchase I was told what was in stock and what was out of stock and when I could expect it to arrive. It arrived right on time. No problems.

    What I like about the BGE is that it does everything. Searing steaks, BBQ style cooking, and it works as a brick oven, great for pizza.
    It is costly but when you consider that you only need one cooker to do everything it is more than worht it.

    The flavor of the food is wonderful, not having to stand over the grill is an asset, the smell of the food cooking entises you and angers your neighbors as they become hungry but there is simply not enough to share.
    Love the BIG GREEN EGG, the nest, the tools -- it was expensive initally but well worth it!

    We bought a BGE about three years ago. It was fantastic. Best steaks I have ever had, bar none! I say "had" only because our beloved BGE fell victim to a 75 foot pine that fell directly on it and it's wooden table on the deck during a storm. Hit it dead on. Drilled the table legs through the deck and totally crushed the BGE. It was a sad sad day for all. Salvaged a piece of it and now it sits proudly on display.

    We are about to buy our second one. Can't wait. No huge pine trees in new yard. Thankfully.

    Though expensive and a different learning curve then standard grilling, VERY happy with first results. Should last forever though so price should be justified.
    Wish a decent cookbook with more recipies came with it than owners manual that was packaged with unit.

    The Big Green Egg provided good instructions for assembly, these should be followed to the "letter". It wasn't too hard to complete. One surprise is despite the fact that the BGE reaches and maintains high temperatures, it tends to cook steak just a bit more slowly than other BBQs that I've owned. It does a great job cooking very evenly, and the taste is great.

    I use the BGE approx 4 times a week, not just weekends. It is easy to use, virtually no cleanup and the food quality is superb. Also the usage of natural lump charcoal instead of brickettes which contain fillers and chemical additives is a health benefit. This is a well constructed product that I'm sure will last the rest of my life.

    I have been tring to use my BGE for all the things you can cook on it from Steaks to Salads.

    I love the fact that now I can cook outside and not heat up the house and it's so easy just get the tempature set and wait till product comes to tempature.

    Have been frothing at the mouth to buy an Egg for the past 4 years and finally pulled the trigger. Certified Angus 10lb 4 bone Prime Rib for Thanksgiving was the test guinea pig and it came out fantastic. Not a drop left after dinner. Couldn't have done it without guidance from my mentor and yoda of the Egg, Big Murth. All Hail BGE!

    I have a nice propane grill but I was never really happy with it. It uses was limited to only grilling things fast. Slow cooking was impossible and food dried out easily. Cooking fish and shrimp was always difficult.

    The Big Green Egg cooks perfectly. Everything I have cooked turned out very moist and perfectly cooked. It is as good as everyone says.

    The BGE lump charcoal starts easy and the egg is up to temperature in about 15 minutes. Using charcoal hasn't been an issue at all.

    I will be selling a used Propane BBQ.

    I think I have found the grill that will last my lifetime! This thing is awesome! It smokes, it grills, it bakes, it does it all. I have done steaks, ribs, chicken, and a brisket over the first two weeks and it has all been great. I would tell everyone to buy one if they love to cook!

    Very Happy with my BGE. Starts very easily and easy to maintain temps. I find the BGE forum very helpful for finding BGE specific answers to cooking on the BGE. [...] I have cooked a beer can chicken and a brisket so far. Next I will be trying a pizza. One note. If you are going low and slow the dome temp can be 25 - 50F different than the grill or meat level temp.
