It's all about flavor. Propane, electric, and briquettes can't compete with lump charcoal. And the Big Green Egg's heat retention and efficient use of charcoal is not matched by any other product.

Food has the WOW factor cooked on the BGE.

Not really portable, but with nest, easy to move around, patio or deck. Not hard to put together. I've been able to use several times, and is very efficient, and holds heat very well. Back in 1974 I had a cooker when stationed overseas, and this is very comparable. I didn't bring that BBQ home, because I didn't think it would survive the shipment, and didn't find another like it until now. You can do anything on these, even bake. I've already smoked a turkey, ribs and cooked steaks. It reminds me of the old grill, completly amazing.

Don't wait, this is worth the price!

my son-in-law does the grilling and he has fallen in love with the egg..natural wood charcoal..they being organic like the way it cooks leaving the meat succulant..deserts great (did not do too well on the peach cobbler) and just the all round way it cooks. I would have a hard time getting him away from it.
