The engeneering is great. No more hard rewinding with the handle. the hose where the wasted water goes is placed on the nearby plants, so it's not wasted. The swivel is a good idea.
The cons are it's all plastic and it looks like it won't last very long. I would have liked to pay more and have a stronger swivel with bearings so that it slides better and the hose attatchement in metal. Something made to last.

This could use some improvements. The base should be heavier, especially on 100 feet or more hose length. Also the guide could be designed a little sturdier. It doesn't always wind properly unless you guide it yourself. Love that it swivels and we use it daily and are glad that we have it. We would purchase it again.

This product has made gardening fun. We had tried varies types of hoses and hose reels in the past years, but none of them really worked well. We used to dread having to use the hose becasue of the tangling during use and the rewinding afterwards. We now look forward to using the hose because it is entertaining to watch the Reel Smart in action. Our plants are happy, too! The only down side is that it needs to be mounted on the surface it is sitting on. Otherwise the weight of the hose with the water will make it difficult to pull the hose out without pulling the entire Reel Smart with it. We are hesitant to drill holes in our new cedar deck for the mounting. The workaround is to put your foot on the Reel Smart to hold it down as you are pulling the hose out for the first 6 ft. or so.

This is a good product, however it could be more sturdy (the swivel base). Mine squeaks, but maybe that's because I have an extra heavy hose in it. All in all a good product. I really like the swivel base. Keep it up! I give it a B+.
